magnetofield. magnetodynamic. magnetohydrodynamic.
In an experiment to find alternative generators of electricity I subjected a high velocity flame to a strong magnetic field. Declared attempts to paint the weather. The electrons then constituted a current flowing between two electrodes in a flame.
A simple, perfect fluid flows through spacetime. It might be the Earth’s atmosphere circulating in the Earth’s gravitational field. It might be interstellar gas accreting onto a black hole, its motion encoded by the curved spacetime laws of thermodynamics and the local law of energy-momentum conservation.
What looks like a collapsed egg crate, in fact magnetodynamics, the result of magnetostatics and covariance.
Magnetohydrodynamics considers the motion of an electricity conducting fluid in the presence of the magnetofield.
The magnetosphere, Van Allen belt, is pulled in over the Poles, thinned out to form, roughly, doughnut rings around the Earth. Some of the magnetic force lines move out of the cusp at the Poles where they clash with gravity. That is against the pressure of solar wind. They are stopped short at the edge of the magnetosphere, at the magnetopause. The subsequent looping incomplete, neutralised.
Magnetic windows are susceptible to solar penetration and allow exploration of correlations between sun spot activity distorting the magnetosphere, and the magnetic field’s effect on the weather.
