Mitogenetic rays are a form of radiant energy, of short wavelength, emitted by growing tissues which stimulate cell division. Associated work in the field of mitogenetics was carried out by Herbert Weaver.

Mitosis, the elaborate process of cell division, involves arranging protoplasmic fibres in definite figures.
